ALLES KUNST
OCTOBER 28 - NOVEMBER 14, 2020
The art you will experience when visiting Kunsthal Nord from the 28th of October is named Alles Kunst meaning Everybody's Art. The creations are a part of Aalborg Municipality Art Fonds collection, the fonds most important task is to collect new art for Aalborg's public institutions. It is the art you will experience when you are going to the library to lend a book or going to a meeting with Gitte at the job center. You may also come across it, when your sister is getting married at the city hall, or when you are at the public swimming pool with Emil. This exhibition Alles Kunst is figuratively the art that brightens and puts color in our everyday local environment and at the best chance, puts everyday life in perspective.
The artwork you will experience at the exhibition, is an example of ‘contemporary art’, meaning that the art is created in current time and therefore has its baseline in the challenges and pleasures represented in life. Yet contemporary art is often quite abstract. It is our goal to make it specific and accessible by presenting it in public spaces, which is a part of our everyday life.
Alles Kunst was created in a collaboration between Aalborg Municipality's Art Foundation and Kunstpionererne. Kunstpionerne is Kunsthal Nord educationally platform of spreading and to convey of contemporary art in Northern Jutland. The team consists of 16 young curators/culture creators, who together have created the exhibition Alles Kunst, a project with impetus in an educative community, where it is okay to make mistakes, provoke the typical form, and to grow. We know we do not have the answers on how to perceive art. But we hope that you will go to this exhibition with curiosity and bring Gitte from the job center, colleague-Carl and maybe even Emil the swimmer with you. We really want to hear how you perceive and see contemporary art.
The exhibition is supported by Aalborg Municipality's Art Foundation.
