SYDHAVN STATION - STATION TO STATION
JANUARY 6 - FEBRUARY 4 2018
Sydhavn Station is one of the most interesting exhibitions in the country, which represents contemporary art exhibitions in the former ticket office and on a number of poster boards in the busy station hall in Copenhagen.
The project is 100% artist-driven and has been awarded by the Danish Arts Foundation and awarded the BKF award for the 2016 exhibition venue of the year.
Now, we have invited the artists from Sydhavnen to Aalborg, where they will be inspired by the post-industrial story of Nordkraft, different raw frames and the curious fact that there are still railways under Kunsthal NORD. The premises were previously a transformer station.
The artists each have their different practices, but despite the fact that most of them have grown up in Jutland, only a few of them have had exhibits in North Jutland.
The eight artists will individually present new as well as older works that will unfold like paintings, sculptures, installations, video, photo and performances. Several of them will be major installations, which are thought into the framework of the art gallery.
Line-Up: Jens Axel Beck, Sonja Lillebæk Christensen, Heidi Hove, Ulla Hvejsel, Mette Juul, Heine Klausen (guest), Anne Skole Overgaard and Camilla Rasborg.
