JONNY HEFTY - Visual Poetry Slam 
August 16 – October 15, 2017 

Directly in front of Kunsthal NORD’s entrance at Nordkraft, we will show Jonny Hefty's colorful mix of rap'n'roll lyric and street art. Come and experience how it looks when a heavy rhyme takes on a visual expression.

Jonny Hefty was born and raised in Aalborg. He is an original rapper and especially known for his collaboration with Niarn and Jøden. With the latter he has created hits like "Gamle Dreng" (Old Boy) and "Vi går aldrig hjem" (We never go home).

After seven years in Copenhagen, Jonny Hefty moved back to Aalborg in 2013, and with great success. In 2014 he was named the King of Aalborg Carnival, and in the same year he received the North Jutland Cultural Prize. In 2016 you could read his poem ”Mørke dage nordpå” (Dark Days up North) on 140.000 bottles of Aalborg Christmas Akvavit liquor.

Jonny Hefty is also a street artist, and his works can be seen in several places in Aalborg.
