INDRE RUM // BGK NORD Annual Exhibition

"Indre Rum" shows a number of new works created by the students at Aalborg Municipality's Talent Academy — BGK-Nord. The exhibition presents a number of works that originate from the students' own inner spaces. The very talent in creating art lies in being responsive to one's inner voice and being able to tune in to feelings, observations and knowledge we may not yet have words for. This is where art and even the urge to create is an important tool to try to understand a little more about ourselves and the diverse spaces we find ourselves in and surround ourselves with.
In the first room of the exhibition, you are greeted by works where the urge to create is in focus, and where the artists advocate for mental health through processual imaging, listening and trying to understand ourselves and the world we find ourselves in. ranges between objective observations and subjective experiences about the world we find ourselves in. The rooms' works also relate to nature and the bodies in it, which also transcends into Room 2, where the following questions are raised: What does our relationship with nature mean and what is our role in it? What is 'natural' when it comes to issues of gender, body and identity? What is 'naturalness' for a size and what
In room 3 we begin to enter the private sphere behind the four walls of the home. The exhibited works advocate for family constructions and question marks around homeliness, security and nostalgia. In the last room of the exhibition, we enter the intimate space, where the carnal and digital mirrors. Nudity is explored in virtual settings. Questions about the impact of social media on young people's view of themselves. sexuality, body and beauty ideals,
The exhibiting artists are Tex Jensen, Sofie Calundan Derosche, Kalinka Ranfelt, Nicolai Köhne, Fie Lindgaard, Ditte Sommer, Silas Abrahamsen, Asta Silfverberg, Signe Underbjerg Jensen, Filippa Emilie Vittrup and Frida Ottsen.
BGK-Nord (Billedkunstnerisk Grundkursus) is a preparatory art education where students can develop their talent through professional teaching. The team works with visual arts at a professionally high level in a framework that provides room for learning through creative processes and experimental independent artistic work, free and critical thinking, reflection and artistic awareness. BGK-Nord offers students the opportunity for professional immersion and intensive learning in visual arts as preparation for higher education or profession.
